The experimentation of animals and the discovery of new findings because of these testings have proven at times to be very impactful in scientific findings to human society. These findings, however, overshadow the darker, more hidden process that can be found within these operations. Many people are aware of the testing of animals, but many people fail to see how truly painful and deadly these experiments prove to be, with the countless deaths of millions of animals that are tortured and killed daily. Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Animal Testing and Its Cruelty" essay for you Create order The procedures found have proven to be cruel, inhumane, expensive, and at times even futile as the huge differences between animals and humans and the testing of trivial, useless products show how animal testing is not effective. With the constant development and advancement on the medical and technological fields, animal testing has been one of the bigger uses for discovery and experiments. The experimentation of animals, however, has been shown to be a deadly and horrific operation, and arguably even a genocide of the animals being abused. Behind the scenes of the security measures behind your favorite series of lipsticks or most frequently used colognes lies a scene of imprisonment and product placement. Countless animals are taken out of their homes, the wild, and even the streets and placed in small, cold metal cages. From then on, these animals are fed poorly and given very faulty housing arrangements, where they will live the rest of their lives to be experimented on and to be treated poorly until they die so they may be cast away. With the ongoing kill count that covers all of the animals tested on, one might think that the operation can and should be stopped. Luckily, there are alternatives that can be found in forms of computer models, cell structures, and even human testing, given that the human person gives their consent. Although some may argue that cell structures and computer modeling is an unreliable method, animal testing is found to be unreliable as well. Animals are used during scientific experimentation based on the assumptions that the animals tested on and humans are similar enough to provide the data needed. However, the biological differences found in animals can prove to be rather problematic when it comes to the translation of data. How is it that we are to assume that animals are to accurately represent the same human response. It was even concluded that research on chimpanzees, our closest genetic relative, is unnecessary and is even being phased out. Animal testing can, however, benefit the economy as new scientific and medical discoveries can be found throughout their research. But, this would only be a loss as the majority of animal testing goes to the testing of unimportant, trivial objects and products, rather than beneficial research and developments. Most of the testing presented is pointed towards the testing of products like Post-it Notes, Vaseline, makeup, Windex, and even condoms. Many other products bought by us are tested on animals beforehand too, and by purchasing these products we are only supporting their testing. If animal testing is to stay, then so be it, but if it is to be continued it should only be further pursued for the better of the economy and not that of our minor, insignificant products that are used, but not needed. The overall operation that lies behind animal testing is not a new operation, but it is still shown to be a corrupt and dark one. Behind new helpful discoveries and countless experiments lies expensive and trivial products in the works. The death of thousands of animals, thousands of dollars, and thousands of ineffective products and results should by now institute the end of animal testing.

Philosophy Paper 1.) Why have you chosen to be in this field? The first 5 years are pivotal in a childââ¬â¢s life. What a child learns during this fundamental period will forever mold and shape them. It is a tremendous benefit that they have exposure to an excellent teaching staff. It would be desirable that all children could avail this resource. However, though that is idealistic, I hope my entry into the field improves the lives of the children I serve. It is my aim to meet this standard of excellence in guiding children to learn developmentally appropriate skills which will help them achieve a successful academic future. I am aware that I will be setting the tone for their future as a student. This is their first exposure to school.â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦A teacher plays a significant role in the lives of children. Aside from the attributes listed above, a good teacher nurtures/cares for each student, observes each childââ¬â¢s strength and weaknesses, takes note of them, and facilitates opportunities for the child to develop in each of the domains (cognitive, physical, social/emotional, language, creative). A teacher also needs to be aware of when to get involved in a childââ¬â¢s play. For example, if the children have exhausted their storyline, the teacher needs to facilitate the plot by adding a character and/or asking the child open ended questions, which will encourage the child to think. Teachers also have a responsibility to the parents of the children in their care. Most parents are going to be very interested in how the child is doing in class and the teacher needs to be prepared to relay explicit feedback on student progress. The teacher may also need to propose ways the family can guide the student in personal growth, including ways they can support and reinforce classroom goals. 3.) In result, the extended base of affluent customers the world over are experiencing a parallel advancement in perception towards the brand, interests, attitudes and also the overall mentality and psychology. They are driving the shift in the 'top-down' relationship that has existed for quite a long time with luxury brands to a bottom-up association where the customer has ended up as essential as the item. An extra move in force is occurring through the development of new luxury markets, for example, Qatar, China, India. These market dynamics are changing the landscape of luxury brands, and hence luxury administration practices oblige refining and revisiting to suit these conundrums (Okonkwo, 2009). Market Potential And Entry Strategy Setting foot print in Qatar has various potential like (HSBC Global Connections, 2014): Intense economic prospect: In spite of this, the retail area stays among the brightest prospects of economic factors in the region. In the GCC nations like Qatar, around $16.5bn-worth of retail plans are being arranged, authorized or are under way. The plans reflect the transformation far from souks and nearby retailers, towards urban shopping centers and mass retailers. Quite a bit of this is being driven by the twin triggers of financial aspects and demographics: the locale has an inconceivable, youthful populace and a developing middle class. Next area to grow: Among the top 20 spots, the Middle East countries ranks 5th in the appeal towards the western brands. Comparatively, the economy of UK is expected to decrease by 0.4%. GDP per capita over the Gulf ranges from $22,635 in Saudi Arabia to a huge $106,394 in Qatar. Consumers are highly spending: Customers from Arab parted with a 812 average (about $1,301) in UK sale. This represented 32% of sales in international retail, as indicated by Swiss research firm Global Blue, and represented a yearly spike of 104% in consumption from Arab customers. Foreign Brands: For global retailers like Harvey Nicholes, the attractive markets are Kuwait, UAE and Saudi Arabia. It is found that 53.1% of leading brands have footprint in UAE, 40.2% in Kuwait and 41.1% in Saudi Arabia. The above potentials show that the Harvey Nichols has good potential to expand in the Qatar Market and also other GCC regions. In order to enter in the Qatar market, Harvey Nicholes can use either the Franchising Mode of entry. Franchising: Franchising empowers expansion in the international market rapidly by utilizing the intellectual property of the franchisor, owner operators network and also the capital. It is a plan whereby the franchisor gives the franchisee the privilege to utilize the franchisor's trademarks, trade names, business models, plans of action, and expertise in a given region for a particular time period. With this framework, the Harvey Nichols can issue its master franchise to a nearby business entrepreneur in Doha, who will, thusly, offer nearby franchises inside his region. Through this Harvey Nichols can capitalize towards the wining business by extending abroad with less investment. The key drawback of franchising is the trouble of adjusting the franchised resource or brand to nearby market tastes. This makes the people more accessible towards the brand. Promotion: Harvey Nichols puts a great deal into promotion and advertising. It did it effectively, and made numerous memorable advertisements. It decides to publicize on newspapers and fashion magazines to pull in the customers who dependably focus on the most recent design pattern. The recent campaign Sorry I spent it on Myself has encourages the customers to be unreasonably selfish and spend more on themselves rather than their loved ones. This campaign was featured across in-store displays, shop windows, with the downloaded cards of Christmas and also website of the company (West, 2013). Additionally, the brand also provides some discount coupons to make the purchase experience more effective (RetailMeNot.com, n.d.). In 2015, Harvey Nichols has also launched the Valentine's Day campaign that allowed customers to tap on an item connection to send a not-so-subtle clue to their partner. The happiness hint generator' was implanted into all items on the site so shoppers can snap "send a hint" on their chosen gift. Historical Method Essay History is the study of the past. For historians the past dates back to 4,000 B.C., when events werefirst marked by writing, until present day.In its content history is everything.Historians spend their whole lives figuring out which events are more substancial than others. In order to achieve this, the historical method is put into practice.A problem solving technique using the gatheration of data, classification, interpretation and the most essential step, writing and teaching.Thefirst step to studying the past events is gathering data. There are two types known as primary and secondary resources.Although both play an important role in gathering information, primary is the one you can not omit.In order to decipher which is primary and which is secondary there is a criteria that must be met.Person and time are the two categories under criteria. An example of primary resources would be a journal entry written by a person during that specific event.A historian could use a victim of the Ho locausts diary as a primary source.Being that the victim experienced those actual events.Secondary resources would be a text book or magazine article written about a past event. The writer however, was not present at that point in time.Secondary resources eventually evolve into primary. The second step deals with classification.Every historians way of classifying is different.Their frame of reference is based on genetics and their environment. The way a person is raised to believe in certain aspects or taught by the people around them determines their point of view.Thefirst way to classify events is chronologically.A historian might take World War II for example, and list all the events from when the war began to the final battle that ended the war.Another approach is concepts and ideas.A historian might group events according to religious aspects, social, economical, environmental, etc.

To what extent did the American publics reaction to the Vie essays To what extent did the American publics reaction to the Vietnam War shape its course? It is the course of the war that shaped the American peoples reaction and not the reaction of the American people that affected the course of the war. American publics reaction may have played a small part in shaping the course of the war, as the president could not escalate without public support. Increasing criticism within the administration and congress it self, anti war reports of the media and the cost of the war were all issues that caused the anti war feeling. However all these issues were generated from the war itself. The Tet Offensive and the My Lai Massacre amongst many other events showed to everyone back at home, the point where things start to go wrong in a war(Michael Herr). The weaknesses of the Americans in the Vietnam War greatly contributed to their failure. These failures were gradually shaping the course of the war and thus the growth of anti war feeling in the administration and the congress and the general public who saw number of dead soldiers being brought back. Therefore it was not just the publics reaction that shaped the course of the war. The Vietnam War itself was enough proof that was needed to show that the war wasnt going well as the Americans had hoped. The Tet Offensive that occurred in January 1968 had shown that US intelligence officials had failed to notice clear warnings. It had also decreased their confidence. This event occurred on the Tet festival that is the equivalent of Christmas, New Year and Easter. It is when Hanoi launched an unprecedented offensive against South Vietnam (Vivienne Sanders). The aim of this was to cause the collapse of Saigon government. The attack came very unexpectedly, shocking Saigon, Washington and the US public. Communists seemed to move with such impunity and so effectively that it took 11,000 American and ARVN troops thr...

Being a leader is not easy - Essay Example "Nothing matters more in winning than getting the right people on the field. Differentiation helps you do that." (Welch Way, 29 March 2009). One of the biggest challenges faced by the leaders these days is getting the right people for the job, any job can be completed by anybody but the point is how efficiently a person can do a job Leadership is all about perfection and any wrong decisions taken can prove very fatal. For instance a leader hires a person, who he believes is the right man/woman for the organization but the work of that employee proves otherwise, the organization can suffer because of the same and the loss occurred because of that wrong decision of the leader will always remain irrecoverable. It is very difficult these days to find the right people, who can commit their future to the organization but leaders are expected to have the quality of differentiation, a leader who possesses this quality can never go wrong in the process of selecting the right people for the or ganization. ... This is one of the biggest challenges which the leaders these days face, if a leader is born with this quality then major pitfalls in leadership can be avoided without facing much difficulty. The managers need to take up multiple roles and this will ensure the satisfaction of many demands. Henry Mintzberg has given a comprehensive guideline which consists of ten roles that are common to the work done by all managers. These roles are further divided into groups, interpersonal, informational, and decisional. The role of information ensures that every manager is aware of what the other manager is doing. The interpersonal role is largely responsible for providing the information and ensuring that every manager is well aware of what is going around them. The decision role makes use of the information provided by the interpersonal role and the process of decision making starts. The performance of managerial roles and the requirements of these roles is usually played at different times by the same manager and to different degrees and it depends on the level and function of management. The ten roles are described individually, but they form an integrated whole." (Henry Mintzberg , 29 March 2009). Another big challenge which the leaders of today face is the daunting task of decision making. Decision making is the most challenging task for any leader. One wrong decision can change many things around in an organization and those changes will surely be for the worse of the organization on the other hand one good decision can help the organization in more ways than one. Decision making is a very delicate process, numerous things have to be kept in mind, a leader just cannot go on making wrong decisions because that would result in disaster,
